MADELEINE STOWE, CHRISTA B. ALLEN

Last night’s episode of Revenge showed Emily finally coming to terms with what her plan means for those she’s come to actually care about, and of course another potential wrinkle get added to it. So, let’s dig in.

Jack showed up at the magazine headquarters with a gift for Margot and hopefully a date. Of course as he waited for her to meet him in the lobby, he spent his time staring at photos of Daniel and Emily. After a little persuasion, Margot eventually agrees to the date, but things don’t go as smooth as she was hoping. Just as they are starting to get intimate on their date, Jack freezes — the weight of a wedding ring can do that to a person — and Margot leaves. Later, Jack pays a visit to Amanda’s grave where he tells her that he misses her with all his heart, but it’s time for him to move on – and move  on he does.

He shows up at the Grayson’s 4th of July extravaganza and finds Margot and apologizes to her.  Margot quickly realizes he’s not wearing his wedding ring anymore and cue the fireworks – literally and figuratively.

Speaking of fireworks, there are clearly still some going off between Daniel and Sarah. Not only did Daniel ask her to bake his and Emily’s wedding cake – which is not awkward at all – but Charlotte, being the Grayson that she is, invited Sarah to the party. Victoria is not pleased with this at first, but Charlotte makes her see things differently. Charlotte believes that there are some unresolved feelings between Daniel and Sarah and if Victoria spent a little less time hating Emily and a little more time worrying about Daniel she’d see it. Turns out, Charlotte is right because Daniel finds Sarah on the beach and after sharing a romantical moment leans in to kiss her. WITH EVERYONE AROUND. Fortunately, Sarah doesn’t try to kiss him back, unfortunately..someone did see it. But who?

Well, with Conrad trying to get back in the public’s good graces, he hired a publicist: Busy Preston. She wants to re-vamp the entire family’s image and her main focus is Victoria and Emily.  Understandably. She wants to parade the two of them around and make them the epitome of what a mother and daughter-in-law relationship should be. Of course, this won’t work with Emily’s plan since it has to be publicly believable that Victoria is  the one who “murdered” her. So, when Emily tells Nolan that they have to intervene, we learn that Nolan has his own history with Busy and the two get busy trying to take her down.

It first starts with Nolan and Emily planting the seed that Emily has been married once before. Of course, Busy being the busybody that she is “accidentally” lets this”confidential” piece of information slip to Victoria that Emily has an ex-husband. This conveniently gets dropped as Aiden “dropped in” on a lunch between Victoria, Busy, and Emily. Normally, Emily would be pissed at Aiden showing  up unannounced, but Victoria told Aiden that it’s time for him to get back in Emily ‘s life. Or more importantly. Her bed. Subtle, Vicky, subtle.

Unfortunately, Daniel is unfazed by the Aiden and Emily thing because he’s got other feelings of his own. So Victoria declares her own independence from the British  — read: she kicks Aiden out – and decides to put her sole focus on re-uniting Sarah and Daniel. She realizes that they’re on the same team and basically tries to recruit her to the dark side. So once again Aiden is sent packing, but at least this time he and Emily got to have a proper good-bye.

But who was the one who saw Daniel and Sarah’s almost kiss? Emily and Nolan of course! You see while trying to take Busy down, they realized the only way to do this is to get the information that’s in her phone. Unfortunately, her phone is like her baby and she doesn’t let it out of her sight. But this is Nolan we’re talking about! He of course finds a way. While at the party, Busy goes to look something up in her phone, but oh no! she doesn’t have her glasses. Nolan chivalrously offers her his, and unknowingly to her, they take video of her entering her password. This gives Nolan full access to blackmail her with her own secrets, but instead he just threatens her and makes her swear to save her marriage. What a guy! BUT unknowingly to Nolan and Emily, the glasses picked up random things throughout the night – Sarah and Daniel’s moment included. So it appears that Daniel is trying to re-kindle his past. Well now,  it’s up to Emily to make sure he and Sarah have no future. Does Sarah now have a date with the red sharpie? We have to wait until next Sunday to find out.

Some leftovers: Are you a fan of Jack and Margot? Were you shocked Daniel was so quick to cheat? Do you think Emily is starting to second-guess her plan? What do you think Emily is going to do to Sarah or Daniel? Who else wants to punch Charlotte?
