The latest episode of Revenge was called, Ilumination. This was perfectly fitting since the light was shown on a lot of things, and some people who were kept in the dark began to see the light. So, let’s dig in!

The episode started with Emily cluing in Aiden that her foster brother was in town. His immediate question is if there’s any reason to worry; would he wish her ill? Her response: well, I did burn down his house. So I’m oing to go with yeah, probably. Cue a flashback of little Amanda and Eli in their foster home. You quickly learn that he was the one who protected her back then, so it’s clear they were close until their house and relationship went up in flames. But it makes you wonder, because of their relationship then, will he recognize her now?

You’re question is quickly answered when Emily and him come face-to-face at the Graysons. Why are they there? Because Victoria wants to start a foundation in Amanda Clarke’s name, Emily after hearing the news wants to be co-chair. Victoria says she’ll consider it, and they are interrupted by Eli’s arrival. Right off the bat you can tell that he recognizes her, but Emily quickly assures him that she looks familiar because they met at the cemetery the night before. Eli does not look convinced. Victoria, who all of a sudden is super trusting, invites Eli to come to the fundraiser. His interest is peaked, so he accepts. It’s safe to say, things are going to get interesting.

Elsewhere, Daniel is still having his crisis of conscience. He quickly realized the true intentions about what his parents are really doing with the Amanda Clarke Foundation. Even though Victoria got Jack’s blessing, they are learning from their mistakes. However, by mistakes I don’t mean becoming decent people. No, I mean that the last time they completely destroyed another person’s life all their assets got frozen and they were in quite the bind. This way they can move all of their money into this foundation so that when they frame the next person, they still have access to all that money. So, who do they plan on framing? Aiden. Conrad sets the plan in motion by proposing that Aiden become the treasurer of Grayson Global. Daniel is pissed he went behind his back, and well, because Aiden seems to be influencing all aspects of his life. First Emily, and now the family business. Conrad tries to play it off like he’s doing this for Daniel’s best interests, but Daniel doesn’t see it that way, so he goes to the one person who he thinks he can still kind of trust: Emily.

Emily however, is too busy trying to deal with her own problem. You see fo-bro, as Nolan likes to call him, put the pieces together.  Emily was headed to The Stowaway to try and warn Jack about Eli being there, but she got her own surprise when she found him already there. Side note: for someone who can just pick up and end up in NYC on a whim, her getting to  The Stowaway took forever.  There must have been some serious traffic in the Hamptons that day. Either way, Eli makes his way over to her at the bar and tells her she looks pretty good for a dead girl. Before Emily can protest, he grabs her wrist and sees the infinity tattoo. +1 for Eli. The fact that he actually recognized her just made the show a bit more credible in my opinion. Eventually Emily gives him a half-truth explaining that she just wanted a clean slate. She promises that she can give him one too — including eliminating his outstanding arrests and some serious cash — if he just goes away. Unfortunately, something must have been in the water in their foster home because he decides to stick around just a bit longer, he does have the foundation for his “dead sister” to attend after all.

Cut to the kick-off party for the foundation, Emily and Nolan walk in and they’re watching Eli as he moves around from person to person putting quite the charm on the Hampton’s elite. I literally asked myself, “are we sure they’re not actually related?” He’s walking around sharing stories of him and Amanda, and Victoria is clearly impressed. Emily catches up with him and gives him a check for $100,000 and says that now it’s time for him to pay up on their deal a.ka.a for him to leave. He says he knew that was the plan, but he doesn’t want to be rude. He continues chatting it up, explaining how he sells rare books and graduated with honors from Colombia and Victoria believes this all too easily. For someone who hasn’t trusted Emily from the beginning, she warmed up to Eli really quickly. To make matters worse, it would appear Eli would be sticking around a little bit longer. Victoria just made him co-chair. His first matter of business? Donating the entire check Emily gave him to Amanda’s foundation.

Someone who arrives late to the party, in every sense of the phrase, is Jack. He spent most of the episode still trying to find answers. He can’t understand how, based off of what Eli told him, Amanda would want to seek vengence on the Graysons. According to Eli, Amanda hated her father, so why would she risk her life trying to get back at them? Another question he wanted to know is who saved his life. So, he goes to the dock where he was brought that night and found a man who gives him just enough information. The guy who rescued him, bought the title to the bought, but the man never got his name. He was able to describe him though. The man was a tall, thin, blonde man with blue eyes. Sound familiar? To Jack it does. He realized it was Nolan. So, after giving a moving speech at the fundraiser, he told Nolan he knows it was him. Unfortunately, Nolan is a step ahead and is able to convince Jack that the boat really belonged to a Mr. Kenny Ryan. He even has the title to prove it. Nolan knows that history is on his side because of the feud between the families. Well played, Nolan, well played. So, Jack gives his friend a hug and says he’s sorry for doubting him. However, I’m not convinced on how genuine that is.

The episode ended with Emily deciding to do something with the information Daniel had told her. If the Graysons are going to move all their money into one place, why don’t they just make it so they can’t access their money? They’re going to bankrupt the Graysons. How powerful can the Graysons be if they don’t have any means to their power? So we finally get to see this Carrion program we’ve heard so much about. Nolan starts doing all his tech magic, but is stopped by an image he had seen before. Cue another flashback of Nolan freaking out during one of his visits to David Clarke in jail. Back then, Nolan truly believed he could clear his name if he could just find a person named Falcon. Falcon was the one who the Graysons payed to basically get the documents that framed David Clarke. Well, my friends, it would appear that the Falcon is back on the Grayson’s payroll. So, what does Emily think it’s time to do? Go hunting of course.

Some leftovers: Do you trust Eli? Were you shocked that Nolan was so willing to use Carrion? Do you think Jack really believes that it wasn’t Nolan?
