Last night’s episode of Revenge was called Masquerade, which was fitting since everyone seems to be masking some pretty big secrets. So, let’s start our Revengines (thanks, Nolan!), flash forward six weeks and dig in!

The episode revolved around The Grayson’s annual Masquerade ball. While Victoria was counting her RSVPs she got one that was post-marked from 1973. What’s so special about that year? Well, it was the year she was pregnant with her other son. How do we know? He was the one who allegedly RSVPed. In case that wasn’t enough to make her worry, she got eleven long-stemmed black roses — not creepy at all. She’d get the full dozen when she saw him at her ball. Perfectly fitting for a Halloween-themed party, don’t you think? Yet another ghost from Victoria’s past had come out to haunt her.

Elsewhere, Jack was proving himself useful on Conrad’s campaign. He was helping make the speeches more working class, a language Conrad clearly doesn’t know how to speak, but Jack speaks fluently. So, when it came time for yet another press conference, Jack was the one creating responses for Conrad to deliver. Only, little did Conrad know that Jack had enlisted Nolan’s help. They got a man to ask Conrad an important question: with all the recent developments in the David Clarke case, how does he plan to react should he be elected? Well, according to Conrad, he’ll make making sure his name is cleared a number one priority. The tapes between Conrad and Nate were also played. That, you guys, proves how good of a friend Nolan is to Emily. He saw an opportunity to help, and he took it. Unfortunately, it would turn out that Nolan was going to be the one who would need a friend.

Turned out, that Padma was in fact reunited with her father, just not in the way we we hoped. That’s right, The Initiative, after keeping her alive for six weeks, killed her. What they did to her or had her do during that time is yet to unfold. This news sent Nolan completely off the rails, and it turned out he had spent the last six weeks devoting every waking moment into finding her. He even hired a private investigator, but to no avail. Aiden was the one who confirmed this. He and Emily needed a way to get to Trask, so he messed with his accounts. Daniel was not happy with his actions, but it gave Aiden some face-time with Trask. By face time I mean holding him at gunpoint and forcing him to take him to Padma. It worked, but we also found out something else: Aiden’s sister Coleen, had been killed too. So, Aiden decided to execute his own revenge, and with a snap of Trask’s neck granted himself some justice.

Back at the masquerade ball, Victoria was not pleased when she saw Emily there. She had made it perfectly clear that she was not invited, but Daniel didn’t get that memo. Not only did he invite her, but he invited her as his girlfriend. If that wasn’t enough to make it official, the picture of them on page six definitely confirmed it. Apparently, once you go public, there’s no turning back. +1 to Daniel. Another good move he made was returning the two bullets back to his mother (one for each of her faces), and voice his suspicious of Aiden. Better late than never, right? Aiden also finally woke up! He told Emily that he’s not jealous of her on-again-off-again shennanigans with Daniel, he’s disgusted. Finally! Aiden’s a cool guy and all, but no boyfriend could be that okay with what’s going on.

Victoria spent most of the ball looking for anyone wearing a black rose. She found him, in one of the creepiest masks there, and got so distraught that she fainted. Here’s the catch, though: according to Victoria she terminated the pregnancy. One of her mother’s boyfriends got her pregnant and was one of the most terrible times in her life. This was all news to not just us, but Conrad as well. For a moment it seems like he genuinely cared, but then you realize why: he doesn’t want a bombshell like this hurting him in the polls. BUT if she terminated the pregnancy, why was she looking for him? Because this is Victoria we’re talking about and telling the truth isn’t in her vocabulary.

Amanda was also a topic of discussion at the ball. Charlotte overhead someone speaking badly about her, and punched the girl! Not slapped, literally punched. It was great. Jack also defended Amanda’s honor when, after yet another insensitive remark from Victoria, he reminded her that his child is being raised without a mother. This not only led to him teaming up with Ashley to take down the Graysons (that’s an interesting duo), but also hit home with Victoria. Why? Because it turns out she did have the baby, but gave him up to a nun. The main vow was that she could never see what he becomes. So when she paid the nun a visit, she got vague conformation that he’s okay, but once Victoria leaves, says a prayer with her rosary begging the question: did she tell the truth?

The episode ended with Nolan becoming a suspect in Padma’s death, and with the nun getting one more visitor. “What can I help you with?” she asked, and the stranger, who turned out to be Emily, turned toward her and told her that she’s pregnant and has nowhere else to go. A story very similar to the one Victoria was a part of so long ago.

Some leftovers: What do you think of Jack and Ashely teaming up? What do you think The Initiative did to Padma? Do you think Emily’s plan is going to work?
