Revenge retaliation photo

On the latest episode of #Revenge, Margot made another attempt at getting retaliation on Emily…and she may have finally found her weak spot. Let’s dig in!

Ben shows up at the magazine HQ asking Margot for proof that she wasn’t bluffing about knowing the whereabouts of his ex-wife April. She hands him a photograph of April in a diner and that seems to be enough for him. In return, he slides her a folder which we soon learn contains the birth certificate of Amanda Clarke. With the birth certificate in hand, Margot starts writing up a whole story exposing Emily, but eventually finds out that the birth certificate is a fake, so it’s time to make the call: Margot is ready to find Wes Perkins. So who is Wes Perkins?

Well, when April divorced Ben, she eventually ended up being with Wes who proved to be the most unstand up guy possible. So, Ben knows he needs to find April and warn her and it’s a job he wants to do himself. Emily of course wants to go with him, and ultimately has to stand in the middle of the road so he is forced to take her with him on his way. On the ride there they talk a little bit about Emily’s relationship with Aiden, and it’s clear that this ‘relationship’ is starting to be more than just a physical one.

While at the diner, we learn the full story: April confided in Ben her ex-boyfriend about Wes and his illegal activities, but Ben reacted like a cop. He called in a raid, but no illegal substances were found, so Wes knew April was the rat and it ultimately made her a target. So now, with Margot calling him in, they know she’s in trouble again. But when Wes finally does make his way to the diner, looking to hurt April, Emily is in there waiting and the two are able to take him down. With a little fabricated statement to the police from April, Wes is officially on his third strike and behind bars for a while. When Margot learns this news, lady is not. pleased.

Back in the Hamptons, Natalie is getting ready to host her own social event. If we know anything about these events in the Hamptons, we know things are not going to go smoothly. After learning that Natalie bought a deed for a house in California—even though she told Victoria that she was planning on laying down some roots here with David—Victoria goes to warn David about Natalie’s intentions. Obviously David isn’t super inclined to listen to a word she says, and agrees to escort Natalie to her event anyway. Turns out, he should have listened. Natalie is straight up shady when an interviewer asks about her and David’s relationship admitting that she sometimes ‘feels afraid’ of him. This all makes sense when she ultimately tries to cause a scene and frame David as a monster…again. Why? She wanted to continue Conrad’s work. Yup, that’s right, Natalie was also in love with Conrad but settled for his father. Classy. Luckily, Victoria shows up and recorded part of their conversation and Natalie seems to be out of luck.

Someone else who is out of luck, Lyman. After getting fired by Victoria, he shows up at his sister’s house looking for a little sibling love. Nolan doesn’t want him staying with them because he still doesn’t trust him, but Louise says that’s part of what you do when you’re in a partnership. Look at what he’s done for Emily! So, Nolan eventually agrees, but it’s seemingly too late. Now that he was fired from Victoria, he found someone new to hire him on retainer: Margot. So with the key to Louise (and utimately Nolan’s house) he’s free to snoop and find all the secrets that Margot believes Nolan is hiding. He’s in the process of doing just that when Louise catches him. The two argue and eventually take their bickering over the USB filled with files to the patio, when Lyman loses his balance and falls over the cliff to the rocks below. The even more shocking part? When Nolan tells Louise he finally did come around, Louise thanks him and asys it’s perfect timing because he’s sleeping off a few drinks in the guest room. For someone who was all about the power of partnership, she just told a really big lie to her hubby.

So back to Margot finding Emily’s weak spot. She realizes something we’ve all known from the beginning, and that Emily is finally starting to realize herself: it’s Jack. So what’s he been up to? Well, he finally agreed to take a job from Nolan bartending at the club, so that’s a plus. But it all pretty much starts there. As Jack is leaving with baby Carl to go watch the fireworks together, he is pulled over by the police. Why? Apprently his car matches a description of a vehicle where the driver looks like he was drunk. Jack is clearly sober, and his arresting officers – who he knows – decide to give him a breathelyzer anyway. Somehow Margot was able to mess with the device because he blows over the limit and is arrested. Emily and Ben drive by just to see Jack being shoved into the car and Baby Carl in he hands of an officer being taken away.

Some leftovers: were you shocked Margot was willing to hurt Jack? What do you think Louise is going to do about Lyman? Were you shocked Victoria was willing to help David?
