The latest episode of Revenge was titled, Confidence.  And after what went down in this episode, including the fact that as you can tell by this picture, the Grayson’s are back, there is definitely one thing I’m confident about: this show can pack a lot into an hour. So, let’s dig in!

We ended last episode with Aidan coming to the rescue of Emily. Clearly, he should know better than that. Emily is never the damsel. She’s usually causing the distress. Nonetheless, it happened and the end result was learning the WHM’s fate: he’s dead. While that fate was decided, the relationship between Em and Aidan remains to be determined. We got flashbacks of the twosome, whose relationship went far beyond training partners. I guess having a connection that involved devoting your life to something like finding who killed your father, or in his case, sister, will do that. Safe to say that bridge is somewhat burned after we learned that after Emily asked to go with Aidan to go find his sister, he left without her. And as we know, Emily is definitely a chick who holds a grudge. However it doesn’t stop Aidan from trying to help her. And it doesn’t stop him from pointing out that she’s straying away from her original mission. It’s not about finding her mother, it’s about getting justice for her father. It seems like Em has forgotten.

Speaking of forgetting, it turns out WHM forgot choose to withhold some important information of his own. When Aidan and Emily were figuring out how to dispose of his body, Aidan found a room key to a motel and went to check it out without Em ever knowing. While there his spy-senses kicked in and he ended up finding the black box from the plane, and told a female employee there that he was with the police department. The employee seemed suspicious and checked with the local PD and they confirm that there is no officer by that name. The lady looks freaked, and it turns out it’s for good reason.

While all this is going down, the Grayson’s are having their own reconciliation so-to-speak. Victoria decides she’s going to give an interview about her not-real captivity. You see, she really did board that plane, but WHM decided to warn her so they could take down Conrad instead. All for a price of course. And by price, he means Charlotte’s money. Of course this isn’t the story Victoria is going to tell, but hey at least we found out, right? So, while talking to her interviewer she is interrupted with Charlotte spewing information about her real dad, David Clarke. You see, Emily had fake Amanda go to the Graysons and give Charlotte her father’s journal. Only, the content was written by Emily so it’s not real. Fake Amanda does what she’s told even though Jack has told her time and time again to stay away from the Graysons. But, because of her creepy bond with Emily, she does as she’s told and in the end it ends up costing her her relationship with Jack. He’ll still help with the baby, but they’re done.

After Charlotte’s outburst, Victoria decides she’s had enough. She decides to go forward with the press conference and delivers quite the performance. A performance with her entire family as a seemingly united front. She outs that Charlotte really is the result of  her affair with David Clarke. She introduces the world to Charlotte’s half-sister Amanda. Conrad is called to the stage and is shortly joined by Daniel. Daniel, who moments before learned of the betrayals of everyone in his family about Victoria’s “kidnapping.” This is all thanks to seemingly anonymous note that included Victoria’s new passport. We later learn that it was Aidan who sent it, and immediately learn that Daniel is not a happy camper. But before he makes a decision, of course Emily is there — even though Victoria demanded she stay away from them forever — gives him some words of advice. The best way to beat Victoria, is to play her own game better than her. So, when Daniel’s name is announced he walks up to the podium in solidarity with his family, but finally (hopefully) having an agenda of his own.

Elsewhere in the Hamptons, Jack is not only losing his girlfriend, but his brother is getting in serious trouble thanks to his new friendship with Trey. Apparently this friendship has hobbies that involve breaking into people’s homes and stealing things. The owner eventually finds out it was Declan, and after saying he was in it alone, the guy decides not to press charges. This is clearly super nice of the man and Jack agrees, telling him if there’s anything he can ever do for him to let him know. Probably not the best idea seeing as the man tells him he’ll definitely take him up on that. In a you-‘re-definitely-going-to-regret-that tone.

Then, the episode ended with a twist I did NOT seem coming. You see, when Emily and Aidan were disposing of WHM’s body, Emily kept his phone to  see if  Nolan could recover anything. Turns out, all he could recover was the Sim card. But that’s enough for Emily who pulls a switcheroo with that card and her own. She then sends Aidan and the evidence away, but not before taking one more item: a circle gold watch on a chain. Inside is a picture of that very same employee Aidan spoke to. An employee who just happens to be named Kara Clarke, her mother. So, with picture in hand, Emily dials WHM’s voice mail and the message ends with her mother uttering three words to WHM. (Yes, those three.) Three words that can potentially change everything. You know how people say those three words are a big deal? Well, in this case I’d say it’s a HUGE deal. This is Revenge after all.

Some leftovers: Were you shocked that Victoria aired the Grayson’s dirty laundry? What is the deal between WHM and Mama Clarke? Is Emily losing sight of her mission? Do you feel bad for fake Amanda?
