Last night’s episode of Revenge was titled, “Intuition.”  I should have listened to my own intution and realized that when it comes to this show, everything you think you know, most likely isn’t true. Last night was no exception. Let’s dig in!

The episode started with blood being scrubbed off the floor at the Graysons. You don’t know whose blood it is, but considering Victoria was staring at it and throwing papers into a fire — you knew it wasn’t good. Aside from the pool of blood though, things were pretty normal at breakfast. Victoria was blaming Conrad. Conrad was blaming Victoria about the Initiative being after them. Ashley’s going behind Daniels back for Conrad. Charlotte, and me, are wondering why she’s still living home. And Victoria wants her hands on the journal that Charlotte was ranting about last episode. Charlotte tells her that it’s not hers to give, she’ll have to ask Amanda herself. Safe to say, Victoria has no problem doing that. Even if it costs her.

The real problem? Amanda doesn’t want to do it anymore. She confronted Emily telling her that it’s ruining too many things. She lost Jack, left the bar, and now has to move in with Emily. Call me crazy, but if you’re pissed at Amanda, moving in with her may not be the best solution. Either way, Emily seems to have acknowledged even if just a little the damage she’s done and decides to level with Amanda. After telling her that her mother is really alive, Amanda seems to be willing to give it one more go. Then right on cue, Victoria calls inviting Amanda over. But not before asking her to bring the journal.

During their visit, Emily is telling Amanda what to say thanks to a little ear piece in her ear. Gotta love Nolan for always having spy equipment ready! After reading some passages — did anyone else notice Victoria getting teary-eyed? — Victoria offers to pay for the journals, but is interrupted by Charlotte. Clearly not a normal sight, she asked what was going on and Victoria who is always so quick on her feet, said they were just going over the impromptu baby shower for Amanda.

Outside of Grayson manor, Emily saw Aiden on the beach and played him the message she recovered from WHM’s phone. She puts it together that the agent in question, was in fact him, and doesn’t know how or why he would go see her. He again warns her that this may not be the path she wants to go down but as we all know Emily is stubborn. The good or bad part is, Aiden is too. He returns back to the motel just as Mama Clarke is trying to leave, and says he’s really part of the FBI, and that she needs to fill him in on everything. It is here that we see how alike the Clarke women really are. As Aiden has his back turned (he really needs to stop doing that), Kara tasers him and makes a run for it.  Part of the reason…her husband  (WHM!) wouldn’t ever reveal her identity so Aiden was clearly working for the Grayson’s or the Initiative. Either way, she wasn’t sticking around to find out.

While all this is going down, Daniel and Ashley both seem to realize that they’re keeping things from each other. This is proven when Daniel has security call Ashley to check on her car, and he goes through her phone to hear a message from Conrad. Eventually he confronts her, saying that he has a plan, and it may cost them the company, but she should trust him. It seems to have worked seeing as we see Ashley telling Conrad that she’s done being his spy. Cue the camera zooming out and Daniel listening behind the wall. His smirk makes you think that his plan is finally being set in motion. I just hope he’s better at this then his parents.
Back at the Grayson’s the guests are arriving  and Victoria is not pleased when Emily walks through the door. But hey, she is the godmother after all! But why would they both be there — especially since Amanda was so adamant about not playing this game anymore? Well, do you remember the visitor’s log from the hospital that Nolan and Emily found? The one with the signature of a “Charlotte Clarke” a.k.a Victoria? Well, Emily wants to make sure Amanda gets that check from Victoria. Not because it will help her with her future child (that would be too nice) but so she can compare the signatures. So, when Amanda receives a baby journal (clever) from Victoria and a check for A LOT of money taped to the front page, she is all of a sudden overcome with exhaustion and Victoria says she’ll take her to go lie down.

Elsewhere, Nolan is unpacking boxes in a storage unit with Padma. Turns out Nolan’s dad died, but nobody thought to tell him. Luckily for him, Padma is more than willing to help him go through all the boxes, and even comfort him with some kisses after. While unpacking the boxes she sees a check framed from David Clarke that she stares at a little too long for my liking. Do we trust her? The jury is still out for me.

Back inside the Graysons, Emily excuses herself to go to the restroom, but really to get herself situated to feed information to Amanda. Victoria and Amanda are standing on a foyer and Emily is getting Victoria right where she wants her. She gets Amanda to show the check and the log and the ‘Clarke” is written exactly the same. Bingo, they’ve got her! Just kidding, of course its not that easy. While this exchange is going down, Emily’s trusty spy equipment is cutting in and out. She can’t hear what’s fully going on. So much so that she misses out on a very huge reveal: her mother allegedly tried to kill her. Victoria tries to pull the check and log out of Amanda’s hands, but Amanda’s who is super pregnant and in heels, loses her footing and falls backwards over the balcony. Safe to say that definitely explains the blood.

Commotion ensues and Emily calls 911. The look on both her and Victoria’s faces seem to say: this is not how things were supposed to go. But clearly, their actions have said otherwise. Charlotte ends up with Amanda in the ambulance, and Emily calls Jack. Poor Jack. Not only did Amanda leave him, but he’s still dealing with Declan’s mess. Turns out, Trey and Mr. Ryan are working together to try and get The Stowaway. Jack owes Mr. Ryan some serious cash, but without his bar which failed inspection (thanks to Mr. Ryan hiring an inspector) it’s not looking good for him.  As if this wasn’t all enough, he hears that Amanda’s been in accident. Rough day for Mr. Porter. But I guess more-so for Amanda, right?

At the hospital, the doctor asks who to save should it come down to it:  mother or child? Emily speaks up and says that Amanda told her to save the baby. With that in mind, the doctor is able to perform a C-Section, but Amanda’s condition isn’t good. Cue Kara Clarke in her car hearing a news report that Amanda Clarke is in critical condition.

Later on, Emily goes to check on Amanda and the sees something she wasn’t expecting.  Her mother is  there, right in front of her, stroking her not-real-daughter’s head. At this moment Emily has a flashback. That same flashback of her and her mom swimming that we saw in the beginning of the season. But this time she remembers something: her mom tried to drown her. This sends Emily fleeing from the hosptial and into her house where yet again all her windows are open. Why she still does that I have no idea. Luckily, for her it’s only  Aiden who comes in and after trying to push him away, doubles over in his arms, and starts to cry. He was right. And it now seems Emily doesn’t know what or who to believe anymore.
Some leftovers: Do you think Amanda is going to survive? Is it better or worse for Emily if she does? What do you think Daniel’s plan is? Were you shocked Emily didn’t confront her mother? Can we trust Padma?
