The episode started with Conrad still being haunted by the sins of his past. This time it was in the form of a nightmare with Charlotte stabbing him in the heart. Clearly this was something of a surprise since he only knows about stabbing people in the back. He’s jolted awake and finds Emily who has become a regular Florence Nightingale for him during these terrible, terrible, times. Of course, we know  what her latest motive really is: to get Conrad to confess. Luckily for her, Father Paul is still around and Emily knows just the way to get to him. Let’s dig in.
Back at the church, Father Paul goes to repent, but it’s not another priest behind the door, it’s Emily. Maybe it  was being in a church, or maybe Jack’s words really did resonate with her, but she decides to give him a chance to get his own forgiveness. She tells him that she knows he played a role in the murder and framing of David Clarke, and if he can get Conrad to confess to the world, she’ll be sure to clear his name. If not, she’ll make sure he’ll pay for the sins he should have paid for back then. He agrees and hops on a plane and heads to the Hamptons.

Someone else who is enjoying their stay in the Hamptons is Aiden. He reveals to Victoria two important pieces of information. One, he tells her that he and Emily were still seeing each other behind Daniel’s back. Second, that Emily bought Nolan his house — for the same amount of money that the Graysons are missing. Victoria takes these facts and runs with them — right into Daniel’s office.

Cut to later, where Daniel is getting into it with Emily about her past and her secrets. If he only knew. Daniel makes it known that his mother was the one who informed him about these secrets and Emily basically tells him to consider the source. The tables get turned back around when Emily returns home to find a security system installed in her house. Why? Because of the time Daniel had showed up and found Aiden in her home and then he reveals that they had a bit of an altercation. Somewhat of an understatement considering in actuality he shot Aiden — something Emily never knew about. But Daniel thinks he has a right to be angry because things clearly aren’t over between them, and he used their interaction earlier in the day as proof.

You see, Nolan had a party at his house where his outfit gave Eric from The Little Mermaid a run for his money. Unfortunately his outfit was over-shone (almost) by some unlikely pairings. The first up: Jack and Margot who seem to be hitting it off thanks to Charlotte playing matchmaker. Before the party she told him: “You take care of Carl and you take care of the bar, but you never take care of you” –a  valid point, but shady Margot is definitely not the one to do it and Jack agrees. He makes it a point to let her know that he’s not dating, that is until Emily starts talking to him and he is all of a sudden less quick to correct her assumption that they are.

The second paring is none other than Victoria and Aiden whose appearance alone is enough to get Emily’s blood boiling. Victoria makes it a point for Daniel to see the  passion with which they’re fighting and after exchanging insults Emily not so subtly drops her own little bomb on the party: the Grayson’s are broke. Unfortunately, things don’t get much better for Victoria when she learns that the lead Aiden was following fell through — the matching sums of money were just a coincidence, and so Aiden tries to bow out gracefully. However, Victoria is not dissuaded and latched on to one thing: any person who can get that kind of a rise from Emily is someone she wants on her side. Unfortunately, as we learn towards the end of the episode, Aiden is in fact not on her side. He’s still team Emily and came back because she actually reached out for help. Of course it’s clear he still loves her so  his actual reasons are definitely going to come into play. The final pairing is Justin and what seems to be his own head on his shoulders. After making remarks about Nolan’s painting (the one that used to belong to Victoria and is hiding Emilys’ secret revenge box) he makes it clear that he’ll be coming to his own conclusions about all the folks in the Hamptons — not playing into whatever drama is already going on.

The episode ended with two forms of divine intervention. Father Paul did in fact show up at the Grayson’s and urged Conrad to confess. Conrad’s argument against it? Well, he’s dying so he’s almost in the clear. Father Paul’s counter-argument? Coming clean about David Clarke, gives Charlotte a chance to have her real father back. This seemingly moves Conrad because he lets Victoria know that he is going to confess. She of course is not having it. Reason #1: He’ll die before any justice is served, so it will be her and the family who reap the consequences. Reason #2: He blew up a plane when she tried to do this same thing and well, both are good points. But Conrad and Father Paul are determined and off they go with Victoria’s final warning: “If they go through with this it will be the last thing they ever do!” and well, it turns out she may be right. During the final scene we see Emily pulling over to the side of the road to a car demolished and in flames. Father Paul is seen bloodied and on not moving on the concrete , and then a stumbling and banged up Conrad coming from behind the smoke. So who is responsible? Did Conrad have a change of heart? Did Father Paul? Did all the drugs Emily has been slipping to Conrad have an effect? Or did Victoria make good on her threat? Well, we have to wait until next Sunday to find out!

Some leftovers: Do you trust Margot? Did you forget Jack has a really nice smile? Does Justin know something about what’s behind the painting? Are Emily and Daniel on the outs? And what caused that car crash?
