With the smoke literally still setting from the accident, Emily rushes to the hospital with both Conrad and Father Paul on stretchers. We soon learn that Father Paul didn’t make it, but “luckily” Conrad survived. When asked about the accident all Conrad can remember is that Father Paul was driving (interesting), the rest is a little fuzzy. Everyone realizes that Emily was the first on the scene so they ask her what happened and even though this would be a prime opportunity to frame Conrad (for yet another murder) Emily confirms his story that he wasn’t behind the wheel.

Cut to Emily running into Nolan’s house, upset by Father Paul’s death but even more determined to find out what really happened with the accident. Aiden dressed, dressed rather draper, suggests that maybe it was a side effect from all the drugs she’s been giving him, but it couldn’t be. Emz told them she lowered the dosage just so he’d be able to confess.

Back at Daniel’s new headquarters, Emily pays a visit a little later to find a new detective finding out information about the accident. Emily is surprised to hear that since she was a witness and nobody has taken her statement yet, but why should she, that’s what Daniel is for! He told her the statement is all taken care of, gives her a kiss on her cheek, and sends her on her way in typical male Grayson fashion. Emily is somehow surprised by Daniel’s actions and ends up at the Stowaway filling Jack in on the latest development. But Jack has a development of his own: if Emily is still hellbent on Revenge against Conrad, he officially wants in.

Elsewhere, Nolan bumps into a shirtless Patrick again at the beach club and steals his wallet to finally get some background information on him. Unfortunately, he’s not sure how to do it since all he has is a library card, so Nolan eventually gives into the temptation of technology. Flash to Nolan making an appearance in Jacksonville, Florida and chatting it up with a lady who turns out to be Patrick-s ex-wife. She tells Nolan he’s a user and a liar and wants nothing to do with him. Nolan offers her 20 thousand dollars to spill everything, and what do you know?  She instantly changes her mind.

So what did he learn? Well for starters we learned that Patrick is into guys, and more specifically, potentially  Nolan. That was made evident by their steamy kiss. But who is playing who here — if anyone at all? We also learned that Patrick is a bastard in more ways than one. His words, not mine. You see, after Victoria got herself a job at one of the premiere galleries in town, the two connived a way to make Victoria the owner. He wanted her to be Vicki Harper again, so Vicki harper she became. Patrick showed up to the gallery trying to sell one of Victoria’s most prized pieces of work. The owner Sheila, a ‘friend’ of Victoria’s, says she can’t just sell it without the proper papers, it’d be illegal. But Patrick did his homework. He knows that it wouldn’t be the first time she wasn’t by the books. So at the party that Sheila threw to celebrate (read: humiliate) the fact that Victoria Grayson is now a part of the working class, Victoria blackmails Sheila into not only making her the owner of the gallery, but banishing her from the Hamptons forever. Are we sure Patrick isn’t a Grayson?

Speaking of questioning a Grayson’s morals, Emily openly questioned who Daniel is as a man — and in print. She gave his new magazine a personal statement and chose to provide the information about Daniel’s DUI. Daniel was not a happy cmaper. This ultimately leads to him asking her a seemingly simple question. If you don’t like the man I am, why do you want to marry me? Her answer: .. because I love you — not exactly the reassuring or confirming answer he was looking for. It’s safe to say there is definitely trouble in paradise.

On top of that, Emily finds herself in her own set of trouble with Jack.  She shows up at the  junkyard where the car from the accident is, but quickly learns she’s not alone: Jack is there too. He shows her a video he took which proves that the airbag deployed, but it was somehow removed from the car. Jack and Emily quickly remember the burns that Conrad had on his face and realize this is the proof that Conrad was in fact driving.  Emily wants to take the video, but Jack wants this. This is his chance to punish Conrad for all he’s done to him, so he puts it to Emily bluntly. I either tell this truth, or I tell yours. Safe to say Emily chooses the former. But Jack isn’t taking that responsibility lightly. He has a mechanic look into the car and it’s a good thing he did. He finds evidence that someone has tampered with the brakes which basically makes whoever was behind the wheel irrelevant. But someone did try to kill the two of them — and it wasn’t Emily.

The episode ends with Conrad calling the family together for some good news (depending on who you ask). However, before Emily joins them, she stops by the pool house to ask Aiden if he’s the one who tampered with the car’s brakes. Aiden asks her to trust him and reiterates that he’s there to help her. This interaction however causes Aiden to learn something he was not expecting: Jack knows Emily’s real name — and Aiden is NOT happy about it.

When Emliy finally enters the Graysons, Conrad informs the family that he was misdiagnosed with Huntington’s disease and is ready to take his rightful seat back as head of the Hamptons. After his announcement he is asking Victoria when Aiden is going to leave when they are interrupted by Aiden himself. Aiden tells them that he’s made a recent development with the accident, someone tried to kill Conrad, and Aiden knows who it was —  Jack Porter.

Some leftovers:  Who do you think tampered with Conrad’s brakes? Do you think Daniel will call off the wedding? Are Patrick and Nolan going to become an item — or are they just using each other? Do you like this dark side of Jack?
