On the latest episode of Revenge, we got a lot of big reveals including the reval of David Clarke’s clean-shaven face. Let’s dig in!

The episode started with Emily literally whipping out different tools of the trade to get the guy who attacked David in the hospital to talk. After watching her bloody him up a bit you get the sense that lady is just  not playing this time around. Luckily for her, the man isn’t either and he finally gives up the name of his partner: Pete Dunn.

Because this is the Hamptons and news travels fast, Jack and the lady detective, Kate, are about to enjoy the aftermath of a few drinks in her hotel room when her phone rings. Stupid, Uncle Sam! It’s there they learn that David Clarke was attacked in his hospital room. However, when they get to the interrogation room to question the man they have in custody, they find him hanging from the ceiling. Safe to say that Pete won’t be talking, but that doesn’t stop Emily from questioning the timing of it all. These were thugs for fire, not true believers. So why was Pete willing to die for the cause? Well, Emily doesn’t think he was. So she’s ready to put her theory to the test. And how does she do it? Date night, naturally.

After getting a late night visit from a drunk Ben earlier in the episode, who finally found the courage to ask her out, Emily revokes the big fat NO she gave him initially and agrees to meet him for a drink. She does some light flirting to fit the part, but Ben quickly realizes that this is not a date. If the bear claw grip she put on his arm when he tried to kiss her wasn’t a big enough clue, the fact that all she wanted to do was talk about police chief Alvarez was.

You see, Emily thinks that someone who is super well connected has something to do with the attack on her father, and the pieces to the puzzle are all pointing to Alvarez. Nolan and Jack think she’s crazy, but homeboys should already know that Emily is rarely wrong. After a run in with Daniel, who told her she looked pretty, so whoever she was just on a date with better not be wearing their heart on their sleeve, Emily seemingly gets a bit of a conscious and goes to apologize to Ben. He accepts and lets her ask the questions she wants and Em wastes no time in voicing her suspicious of Alvarez. Ben owes a lot of his career to Alvarez so he isn’t biting and besides, he doesn’t have the opportunity, but it’s during this conversation that Emily realizes someone who does.

Back over at the beach house, Victoria and a newly shaven David are back in the constant struggle of being honest with one another. Victoria wants David to believe her when she says that she is done holding onto anger. She just wants peace—even if that peace means a new life with him and Amanda. To the viewers it does seem like she’s being sincere, and the case is made even more clear when she brings up the date she and David had set long ago to run away together with Daniel and Amanda when they were children. Oh, how times have changed! The date was September 1, 1993 and with 5 million dollars locked away in a safe they were going to start their new lives together. To show their loyalty to one another they agreed that Vic would pick the code, and David would pick the location. Cut back to the present time, David realizes in that moment that the date is the code to the safe and based on their previous agreement, he knows exactly where the safe is..and the money is still there. So with 5 million in tow, David heads over to Nolan to give him an apology and a new assignment: make sure the contents of the safe go to the police should anything happen to him. He’s off to handle his business with the man who held him captive all those years. That’s right, we finally found out who is behind it all: Malcom Black. Malcom is a well-connected arms smuggler who lives in Canada and David is out for revenge..and he wants to do it without Emily’s help.

Some other people who may be doing things without anyone’s help are Margot and Louise. As Louise realizes that Nolan is the kind of person to do anything for their friends, she also realizes even quicker that Nolan doesn’t consider her one of them. Per his deal with Margot he goes fishing for information on Louise and thinks the real story on what happened to her father is the key. Louise figures this out and basically calls Nolan out. This makes Nolan have a crisis of conscience and calls Margot to say he’s out of their agreement. Unfortunately, Margot isn’t having any of it and tells her editor to print the story anyway. I guess that’s what happens when your hormones are raging from being pregnant. Yep, that’s right, Margot is set to bring another Grayson into the world!

The episode ended with our question of Victoria’s seemingly sincere change of heart being answered. After having a conversation with her P.I., Victoria hands him a photo that basically outs Emily’s true identity. So who is he delivering it to? Well, remember how Ben mentioned to Emily that Alvarez never had access to assist in the Pete Dunn ‘suicide?’ Well he also mentioned that the only people who did have access were the feds. So we cut to Jack knocking on Kate’s door just as she opens a tray from room service with Emily’s photo served up on the platter. And with the opening of the door, Jack and Kate finally kiss. Unfortunately, it means he is now literally sleeping with the enemy.

Some leftovers: what do you think Kate is going to do with Jack? Do you think Emily will go with David to find Malcom Black? What do you think Louise is going to do? What is Kate going to do with Emily? Did you think Margot would be pregnant?
