On the latest episode of Revenge we said goodbye to someone who played a major role in Emily’s life. So who was the latest character to get killed off? Let’s dig in.

The episode started with David Clarke continuing his focus on finding Malcom Black—and it’s something he still wants to do solo. Even with Victoria wanting to help, and even suggesting he clue in Emily,David is not having it. We see him get in touch with a former cellmate to get drugs, drugs that are strong enough to take down a 200 lb. bear. So bascially, things are not looking good for Malcom Black.

As we know, David is not the only one who is trying to get to the bottom of things. Emily is still hellbent on proving that Kate Taylor is part of the attempted assassination of her father…among other things. Nolan isn’t really buying it, but he soon remembers that when it comes to things like this, you always believe Emily Thorne. After careful surveillance, Nolan notices that Kate has a second phone that contrary to FBI protocol, is not registered. So naturally, Emily devises a plan to steal it so Nolan can track it, and what better opportunity to do it than Nolans yacht club re-opening party? Turns out, Kate is going to be sticking around a little longer with Jack and will be the lovely lady on his arm at the party. Emily is not shipping this particular pairing, and warns Jack of her suspicions. Poor Jack, when does he get to just be with Emily happy?

Cut to the party where the duo makes their grand entrance and Nolan not-so-accidentlaly spills his drink on Kate. It’s such an amateur move, and Jack already knows what’s about to go down. This isn’t Jack’s first Hamptons party rodeo. Emily offers her a hand while she tries to dry her dress and is able to swipe her phone long enough for Nolan to install the tracker. Just as she thinks their mission is complete, Kate re-appears asking none other than Amanda Clarke for her phone back. How was she able to put those pieces together? Through the photo sent from Victoria and a quick visit to her house, where Vic surprisingly didn’t out Emily, but definitely pointed Kate in the right direction. Not wanting to cause a scene—for the first time in the history of parties in the Hamptons—Emily agrees to meet her at her house later that night. Why? Kate says that much like David, she’s being forced to work for Malcom Black, too. And plot twist: he has her mother.

Speaking of mothers, Margot is continuing to contemplate what life would be like as a single one. Despite Daniel’s attempt to prove to Margot that he can be the man she needs him to be, she accuses him of running away. A statement she says as she is literally doing just that towards his elevator. She’s later joined by Victoria, who apparently is feeling her own maternal instincts in this episode and assures Margot to give Daniel a chance: he is not Congrad, and if anyone knows, she would. After this meeting, she meets up with Daniel to congratulate him on being a father, but Daniel has had enough. He’s ready to stop being a coward, and become a real man, and well, person. Of course, we’ve heard this before, but you get the sense that with the pregnancy and realization of all his mistakes, he truly means it. Making it even more clear, viewers are treated to flashbacks to when Conrad had once again reminded Daniel of his privilege and made sure he took it. Well Daniel it seems is ready for a new privilege: being the kind of person he can truly be proud of. Little did he know, he would soon get his chance.

Back over at Emily’s, Kate shares her plan to get Malcom off their backs and save both their parents. We all know Emily is rich, so all she has to do is wire the money to an account, and they’re home free. It’s a perfect plan, but Emily knows better and asks Kate the question we were all wondering: so when do you kill me? Kate tells her ideally it would have been after the money transfer, but, well, plans change. As she pulls out her gun, Emily shares that this is all being recorded on surveillance. So what happens next? Girl fight! And none of this hair-pulling -and-slapping business. This was a badass lady fight. We’re talking a full-fledged, mama said knock you out, fight.

While all this is happening, David and Victoria are enjoying some time together next door at the beach house. After a long day, they want to unwind and sip some wine. So as David pours two glasses of Red, we find out who his intended victim of those super-strong-can-kill-a-bear- drugs was: Victoria. The only problem? Victoria is continuing her crisis of consciousness. Right before she takes a sip, she comes clean about being the one who betrayed him and gave the laptop to Conrad. David can’t believe it (#rookie) and at the end of the day just wants ot know why. Well, she technically betrayed him first. She told him his wife was dead. Not sure this is really an eye-for-an-eye kind of moment, but either way it’s interrupted when they hear gunshots coming from Grayson Manor.

The episode ended with Daniel, while taking a stroll on his old stomping grounds, read: the beach, gets the call hes been waiting for: Margot wants him back. She wants him to be in her and the babies life and together they will strive to be better than their fathers. Amid his glory, Daniel sees commotion in Emily’s house. The lady fight is still going on —and it continues even after they fall right over the infamous balcony. The irony of Emily landing exactly where Amanda fell/was pushed at the Hampton party earlier  in the series was not lost on viewers. As Emily starts slowly making her way to safety, Daniel runs into the house to see if she’s okay. Emily tells him to run, but it’s too late. Kate fires multiple shots and they hit Daniel in the chest. Luckily for Emily, Jack, who just happened to be at Nolan’s when Kate’s DNA came back as a match, surprise! she’s Malcom Black’s daughter, busts into the house and kills Kate. Unfortunately he was too late to save Daniel. So as he lies there in his ex-fiancé’s, true love of his life’s arms, Emily tells him everything is going to be okay. Daniel accuses her of once again lying to him. So as he takes his last final breaths, Emily assures him “It wasn’t a lie with you.” With that, we say farewell to Daniel Grayson and hello to everything that his death will set in motion. RIP.

Some leftovers: were you shocked Conrad was going to kill Victoria? Were you shocked Daniel died? Do you feel his character has been redeemed? Do you think Emily meant it when she said it wasn’t a lie?
